REFLEXOLOGY FOR SHIATSU PRACTITIONERS
Two complementary approaches. One broader perspective.
Welcome, Shiatsu Practitioners.
If there are two bodywork practices that naturally complement one another, I believe they are Shiatsu and Reflexology.
Both are holistic approaches to working with the whole person, although they approach the body in very different ways. For me, this is precisely what makes them such interesting companions. Each offers a different perspective and a different way of working, while sharing a common intention: supporting the client's natural capacity for balance and wellbeing.
Bring Shiatsu and Reflexology together
One option is to combine your knowledge and practice of Shiatsu with Reflexology.
Having two complementary approaches gives you more ways to work with a client and more possibilities for adapting your approach to their individual needs. What you experience through Reflexology may add another dimension to what you already understand through your Shiatsu practice.
Both practices can also provide you with information about how a client is responding to the session. Experiencing the client through two different approaches can therefore contribute to a deeper and more comprehensive appreciation of the person sitting in front of you.
You may choose to incorporate reflexology techniques into your existing Shiatsu practice or offer Reflexology and Shiatsu as separate services.
Broaden your practice
Offering both services can also introduce Reflexology to your existing Shiatsu clients while attracting people who may be unfamiliar with Shiatsu but are interested in Reflexology.
In this way, the two practices can support one another—not only in your work with individual clients, but also in developing and broadening your practice.
Choose your direction in Reflexology
At the Pacific Institute of Reflexology, you can choose to study:
or any combination of the three
Each is taught as a separate course, giving you the freedom to choose the areas that interest you most.
You can also decide how far you wish to take your reflexology training. Begin with a basic course and incorporate what you learn into your existing practice or continue into more advanced clinical and professional training as your interests develop.
Flexible training. Your choice. Your pace.
Our relatively compact courses are designed to provide maximum flexibility with minimal financial commitment.
You can choose one course at a time, develop your skills and experience, and decide for yourself where you want your Reflexology journey to take you.
As a Shiatsu practitioner, you have a wonderful foundation for exploring another holistic approach to working with the body and the person as a whole.
I invite you to explore our reflexology courses and make the choices that are right for you.
